Google Reviews: setup, caching, and embedding

Paste a Google Maps URL, fetch reviews server-side, and embed a trust-first widget without loading Google scripts on your site.

Quick visual

Google Reviews widget preview image.

Quick start

  1. Open the editor: /get-widget/google-reviews
  2. Paste a Google Maps URL (recommended) or Place ID.
  3. Click Fetch Reviews to load a preview.
  4. Choose a layout and style preset.
  5. Click Save & Get Code to publish and embed.

Privacy-first caching (why it matters)

GizmoSauce fetches reviews on the backend and serves them from our cache/database.

That means your visitors can see reviews without loading Google scripts, and we can control refresh cadence to protect performance and API costs.

Design tips

  • Keep excerpts readable (don’t shrink body text).
  • Show rating + review count for credibility.
  • Avoid hiding all lower ratings—filter spam, not reality.

Open the editor: /get-widget/google-reviews.
