Connection errors (Instagram / Threads / TikTok)
How to fix connection problems when linking social accounts.
Use the correct account type
Business/Creator accounts often require extra setup (for example, Instagram Business accounts must be linked to a Facebook Page). If you don’t see your account after connecting, confirm the account type and try again.
Approve the requested access
During the connection flow, you’ll see a permission screen. If you skip or cancel that step, the connection won’t complete. Reconnect and make sure you approve the requested access.
Try reconnecting in a clean browser session
Some browser extensions or privacy settings can block the connection popup. Try an incognito window, disable strict blockers temporarily, and reconnect from the widget editor.
Start with the basics
Connection errors are usually caused by one of these:
- The wrong account type (Personal vs Business/Creator)
- A permissions screen that was skipped
- A browser extension blocking the popup
Try reconnecting from the editor after checking these.
If it still fails
Send support a screenshot of the error screen, the account type you’re using, and the widget editor URL. We’ll help you confirm whether this is a provider-side restriction or a setup issue.
Need help? Send the right details (so we can answer fast)
Support is fastest when we can reproduce the issue.
Please include:
- The page URL where the widget is embedded (or the editor URL)
- The platform/builder (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace, etc.)
- What you expected to happen vs what you see
- A screenshot of where the snippet is pasted (or a short screen recording)
If your issue involves a social connection (Instagram/Threads/TikTok), also include:
- Which login path you used (Instagram vs Meta vs TikTok)
- A screenshot of the provider error screen (if any)
- Whether the account is Personal vs Business/Creator
