Profile & security settings
Update your profile, enable 2FA, manage access keys, and keep your account safe.
Update your profile (email, name, website)
Open /dashboard/settings to update your profile details. Keeping your website URL up to date helps GizmoSauce pre-fill it in support requests and some editors.
If you change your email, you may be asked to verify it before the update is finalized.
Change your password
In /dashboard/settings, you can update your password by providing your current password and the new one.
Choose a strong password you don’t reuse elsewhere. If you forget it, use the reset flow: /forgot-password.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second step to login. GizmoSauce supports:
- Authenticator app (TOTP): scan a QR code in your authenticator app.
- Email codes: receive one-time codes via email.
Enable 2FA in /dashboard/settings. After you turn it on, keep a backup method available so you don’t lock yourself out.
Create and revoke access keys (API keys)
Access keys let you authenticate API requests (for example, for automation or internal tools). You can create and revoke keys in /dashboard/settings.
Important: copy the key token when it’s shown—after that, you won’t be able to view it again.
Account deletion
If you need to delete your account, use the deletion section in /dashboard/settings. You’ll be asked to confirm and enter your password.
If you have an active subscription, cancel it first in /dashboard/billing to avoid future charges.
Profile updates (and why they matter)
Your profile lives in /dashboard/settings. Keeping it accurate helps with:
- Support: we can match your request to the right account faster.
- Editors: some widgets can pre-fill your website.
If you change your email address, you may be asked to verify it. This prevents account takeovers where someone changes the email and locks you out.
Two-factor authentication (2FA): recommended for teams and agencies
2FA adds a second step to login, making your account much harder to compromise.
In /dashboard/settings, you can enable:
- Authenticator app (TOTP): scan a QR code with an app like 1Password, Authy, or Google Authenticator.
- Email codes: receive one-time codes by email.
Best practices:
- Enable TOTP if you can (it’s the most reliable).
- Keep at least one backup method available.
- Don’t share codes in screenshots or screen recordings.
Access keys (API keys): treat them like passwords
Access keys let you authenticate API requests for automation. Create and revoke keys in /dashboard/settings.
Key safety rules:
- Copy the token once and store it in a password manager.
- Don’t paste keys into chat apps or public issues.
- Revoke keys you don’t use.
If you suspect a key leaked, revoke it immediately and create a new one.
Account deletion (final step)
If you delete your account, access is removed and your widgets will stop working.
Before deleting:
- Cancel any subscription in /dashboard/billing.
- Export any data you need.
- Remove embeds from your site.
If you’re unsure, contact support first—we can help you choose the safest path.
Need help? Send the right details (so we can answer fast)
Support is fastest when we can reproduce the issue.
Please include:
- The page URL where the widget is embedded (or the editor URL)
- The platform/builder (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace, etc.)
- What you expected to happen vs what you see
- A screenshot of where the snippet is pasted (or a short screen recording)

- Which login path you used (Instagram vs Meta vs TikTok)
- A screenshot of the provider error screen (if any)
